HOCKEY.

A well attended meeting of ladies was held last night to roxoiha ihe Ladies’ Hockey Club. Mr. Dunbar presided. The following officers were elected: Captain, Miss D. Donovan: vice-cap-tain, Miss Campbell; secretary,' Miss Kilkolly; treasurer, Mrs. Dunbar; hon. auditor, Mr. Daws The subscription for the year was fixed at 2s 6d. The balance-sheet “‘showed a balance of 12s lOd. It was decided to open the season with a dance in the Three Stars theatre on Thursday, May 16. The girls were on the Domain yesterday afternoon getting in their first practice. Judging from the enthusiasm shown the club should be able to provide a strong team. A challenge was issued to the'Golf Club to play a match, the golfers to play in skirts, ,and the proceeds to be, devoted to patriotic purposes.
