According to his fellow-prisoners Genower and others were confined in ? hut which took fire. They "demandec to he permitted to eseape hut thtry dared not open the door until he received orders. Genower broke the window and leaned out, whereupon the sentry baydnetted him in the chest. 'All the occupants in the hut perished in the flames. Would-be rescuers were held back by the sentry) Cermany declared the bayonetting story was 'intrue, despite corroboration, and stated Genower died c? hums.
