LONDON, April 2.

Palestine official: Our raiding operations against the Hedjaz railway werq 'successfully l ; {accomplished on March 30th, and we commenced a retirement towards Essalt.

We effectively demolished several miles of railway and an important bridge. The enemy stubbornly resisted in prepared positions in and about Amman, whither the attack was not pressed. We easily repulsed a small Turkish attack on our rearguard. We prisonered 700 and took four guns between March 25th and April Ist.
