LADY LIVERPOOL LEAGUE.
TAIHAPE MAORI BRANCH. The Maori ladies of the Lady Liverpool League are taking the opportunity to publicly welcome two returned Maori soldiers and also to raise money for their League, The public welcome is to be held in the Three Stars. Theatre on Wednesday evening next, all night, with supper and refreshIt is to be a social and danec lasting ments on a liberal scale. There will also be a sale in aid of the same at which firewood, fowls, trophies, curios and various other articles will be offered. The charge for ticket to admit lady and gentleman is half-a-crown.
The two men who are to be welcomed have seen considerable service" at the front and both are disabled bywounds. Rawiri Mata Parae, who went with the first Maori contingent has fought all through being finally, incapacitated by a shot in the base of the skull George Waldron went with the second Maori reinforcements. He has also taken part in some hard fighting but was early struck on the knee, ,
which disabled him, and he is still in hospital at Wanganui. It that all Pakehas will ise our Maori friends in theiFefforts to do all they can towards winning the war.
