CARRYING BACK THE WOUNDED.
AMSTERDAM, March 29
Germanwar correspondents continue to pay tributes to British valour. The A ossische Zeitung says they do not give a foot of ground without fighting save where they are threatened to be cut off. It also must be admitted that when the Anglo-French are counter-attacking they fight with extraordinary bravery. German officers admitted to Dutch correspondents that casualties were very heavy. They plead the necessity to end the war. Endless hospital trains are delivering wounded at a dozen centres;

AMSTERDAM, March 29.
Reports from the frontier state- that every available building in Western Germany arc converted into hospitals. The number of wounded is what was expected. Town criers precoded by women, and drummers, go through the streets ordering citizens to bring beds to the town halls to be used for the Fatherland.
Trainloads of wounded are passing through Liege uninterruptedly since22nd. Woundcds are now sent to improvised hospitals as all those ready are full.
German newspapers are not allowed to mention the wounded and citizens are not allowed to meet the trains, but astounding figures of German casualties are mentioned, causing widespread terror. The Dutch frontier is closed to prevent possible indiscretion regarding casualties.

Thirteen New Zealanders Have been awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
Paris messages are insistent that French troops are completely barring the road along the Oise Vaiifey to Paris. The Germans twice occupied Mont Eenaud, an important strategic point southward of Noyon, but the French for the third time gained and held it. French guns cover all bridges between Noyon and Chauny. The French realise that the Germans are seeking to drive a wedge between the French and British armies. German? newspapers display a new note of anxiety regarding the offensive, fearing results when Allied reserves are brought up. The Vossische Zeitung says it must credit fhe Englis'h and French wits the admirable use thus far made of their fresh divisions. Their troops are fighting with extraordinary bravery.
