A STRANGE .AEROPLANEFROM WHAKATANE. V ‘ WHAKATANE, March 27. r ...Two different persons claim to have sepn an aeroplane yesterday flyingoVervLtho sparsely populated back .country of AVaingarara. In one instance the noise of the engines drew the observer’s attention to the machine, which it is stated, came from the direction of White Island, and was flying in a southerly direction towards Urewera. Another observer a mile away from the first also reported having seen an aeroplane at 1 p.m. yesterday The strange aeroplane is not cue of those belonging to the Kohimarama Flying School. GERMAN PRISONERS’ COMPLAINT JUDGE CHAPMAN INVESTIGATING. WELLINGTON, this day. It is understood that Justice Chapman is at present engaged holding an 1 inquiry into alleged grievance of German prisoners interned on Somes Island. Seen last night Judge Chapman admitted ho was holding an inquiry but ho would not say anything regarding the nature of the investigation.
