WAR LOANS.
SYDNEY, March 20
A Millions Club luncheon with the object of stimulating investments in the War Loan resulted in business men present conributing £400,000. The A.M.P. Society invested two millions. The Hon. Watts instanced New Zealand's favourable contributions compared to Australia. Since the war started, until the present loan Would close, Australia would have spent 233 millions. Loan money for naval and military operations already raised from all sources was 105 millions — a shortage of 128 millions. The Government must have foTty millions. If it was not raised voluntarily, then the Government would have to do the other way.
