WAR LOAN INFORMATION.
In this issue Sir Joseph Ward furnishes information about the War Loan in a most attractive and assimilable form. It is, presumably, compiled as thfe result of experience gained in previous war loan issues, for it leaves nothing that matters in any doubt whatever. Want of information need not be a cause for any man or woman failing to do something towards feeding, clothing and equipping the New Zealanders sent to the front, during the coming decisive struggle with a barbarous enemy. To endeavour to make Sir Joseph Ward’s information more clear would be like trying to illuminate the sun. Therefore, we ask all our readers to carefully study what the Minister is stating for their information and guidance. We do not believe the war can continue beyond this year if all men and women throughout the Empire do their duty. We all know the extreme need of the Empire now is for men and money. Men are obtainable from a nearer place to the seat of war than New Zealand. What we are asked to do is to lend sufficient money to keep the men we have sent so armed and kept that no flagging of their spirits may render them less powerful before their enemies in the coming decisive struggle. This year will probably disclose whether we and our Empire are to remain free or whether we are to be subjected to German domination. Let us fully realise the awful issue and then there will be no question about the attitude we sTiall take to the duty in which we are involved.
