Lovers of fun and frolic will get their appetite appeased should they be fortunate enough to witness the obstacle race at Monday’s sports. This item is in the hands of Mr. Singer, one of the highest authorities in the Dominion on events of this kind, and its success is already assured. Competition in this race is not hinging on qualification, any person between the ages of fifteen and fifty being eligible. At different stages of the journey contestants will find themselves sack racing, sprinting, crawling through barrels (beer), pushing wheel-barrow, hurdling and eating “plum duff.” The race will be highly amusing and interesting for both competitors and spectators, and in this event alone patrons to the Red Triangle Benefit should get good value for their money. It reported that Tom Barry is “set” for the trophy attached to this race, but rumour hath it that the grocer’s candidate “Bill” Goode, will be particularly well suited by the sourso and rertainly worth a small investment.
