AIR FIGHT IN NORTH SEA. i 79 HUN PLANES DOWN IN TEN DAYS. Received 10.10. ■ LONDON, March 14. During an air fight in the North Sea three German machines were destroyed by the British. Seventy-nine German machines have been downed in ten days on the Western, front. RAID ON HARTLEPOOL. Received-TO a.m. LONDON, March 14. The Press -Bureau reports that oneairship crossed the coast last night' and dropped four bombs at Hartlepool, demolishing' six dwelling-houses and damaging thirty. The airship, operated at a great altitude, and only remained a few minutes. The remainder of the bombs appear to have fallen into the sea. A panic occurred at the entrance to a raid shelter, at an underground railway during last night’s raid. Sixtysix were suffocated and trampled* to death. The raid casualties now number S 4 killed and 79 injured, including six killed and seven injured at the' hospital.

Twenty-nine women and 30 children were killed at the tube panic. Theatres are not to be allowed to hold performances in the evening unless air shelters are available nearby. The authorities are overhauling all, and taking measures to combat future air raids. THE COBLENTZ RAID. TERRIFIC DAMAGE DONE. Received 11.5. AMSTERDAM, March 14. The Coblentz raid had terrific results. The city is completely isolated, nobody being allowed to leave or enter. Two munition factories are reported as burning and vast quantities of explosives are continually exploding.
