While the fire brigades demonstration to be held at Taihape during Easter week is to benefit local patriotic funds, the educational and utilitarian value is sometimes lost sight of by the general public. These demonstrations are very valuable factors in raising the standard of efficiency of brigades, our own brigade among the number, which is bound to be of very great benefit to the town should unfortunately the occasion arise. Apart from this aspect the gathering together of such a large number 'of visiting firemen (soine 118) will be a splendid advertisement to the town of Taihape, and it is to make the demonstration worthy of the town that cash for prizes is being solicited by the organisers. Our business people should bear this in mind.
