A CASE OF SUICIDE. CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Henry R. T. Matson was found dead Saturday evening in a house formerly occupied by him in Papanui. Evidence at the inquest showed the* deceased was found lying in a room with three unlighted gas jests on. Medical evidence stated he suffered severely from neurasthenia, and this probably had affected his mind. The verdict was that death was due to asphyxiation by coal gas, deceased having committed suicide while, temporarily insane. Matson was fifty-one years of age, and was formerly a member of
