Italian shipping returns for the week ended February 2nd are: Arrivals 334, departures 285, sinkings ncme, one unsuccessfully attacked. -v) ■ .•■: GERMANY'S .SUBMARINE HOPES AMSTERDAM, March 7. Mueller, head of the engineering branch of the German Navy, informed newspapers that submarines will sink 600,000 tons monthly from January to June 1918, thereby halving the total of English tonnage, excluding vessels under 2000 tons.
ANGLO-SWEDISH TONNAGE. AGREEMENT.
STOCKHOLM, March 7.
The Anglo-Swedish agreement concerning tonnage has occasioned indignation in Germany. The North German Gazette states that according to the Declaration of London these ships must be considered enemy ships, the transfer of tonnage being equivalent to direct participation in an economic war against Germany. Neutrals are therefore committing acts incompajtiblc with neutrality.
