AMUSEMENTS

KING’S THEATRE,

A woman fearful of becoming a mother is the central figure ot ‘ 1 Matternity” the World Film Drama .screening at the “Kingis to-night only. Alice Brady is exquisite as the heroine, and her portrayal of the young wife with a life problem of her own to solve, is very convincing. The story is delicately handled, and the problem which it faces is treated with due respect. The photography calls for special remark. It is brilliant, practicularly in the wonderful night scene where hospital is burnt, filmed at dead of night and full of vivid and realistic flashes. Little Madge Evans, as the child -who,'is rescued is charmingly natural, and earns a distinction all for herself. The support is strong, David Pow r ell who earned such praise as Dick Freneau of Gloria’s Romance and also in The Price She Paid is the hero and his work will be a revelation of manly grace and quiet strength. A very dramatic scene in “Maternity” takes place when the old gardener drags into the house an old-fashioned wooden cradle, which harmless as it looks fills the young wife with fear and horror.

There will also be shown the fourth episode of “The Iron Claw” Graphic, etc.

EVERYBODY’S.

Undoubtedly the most popular screen star among the male contingent, Douglas Fairbanks immediately wins the support of anyone who views his work, through sheer personality. The reason for his great popularity will be demonstrated at the Town Hall to-morrow, Saturday, when the inimitable “Doug” makes his first “Artcraft” appearance in “In Again— Out Again.” This typical Fairbanks picture presents the smiling “Doug” at his best in a subject of rapid-fire theme and hundreds of hearty laughs. Never before has the athletic one had a ■better opportunity to give his admirers so much of his inimitable self, and' many surprises are in store for those who view this super-feature.. Douglas Fairbanks in a Fairbanks comedy, produced by the Fairbanks Company in typical Fairbanks style is an appropriate description of “in Again—Out Again.” He is a "cham.pion remover of wrinkles, and is .a. joyous tonic for young and old alike. It is readily felt that this will prove the greatest of all Fairbanks trn umphs on the screen.

Other attractions on the programme are a five-reel “Butterfly” feature, “Eternal Love,” and the latest American Gazette. “In Again—Out Again will be shown at the matinee.
