ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
MOTOR ACCIDENTS. SEVERAL PERSONS INJURED. WANGANUI, March 6. Another motor accident occurred on Marangai Hill on Monday, several people being injured. It appears that Mr. Pedersen (manager of the Wangaehu Dairy Company) was driving into Wanganui by motor-car, accompanied by Mrs. McDonald and Mr. Blyth_ Coming from the opposite direction w-as a big car driven by Mr J. Bull, of Hunterville. A collision occurred, as the result of which Mr Pedersen’s car was badly knocked about, and its occupants were throwm out. Mrs. McDonald was injured inwardly, Mr. Blyth sustained a broken leg, and Mr. Pedersen was badly cut about and bruised. None of the occupants of the larger car were injured.
At Mr. J. Mahoney, chief clerk at the Hawera Post Office, hac a xfa»ow escape from a serious acciden 1- whilst motoring to Wanganui. The car struck a blind culvert, causing it to capsize. Mr. Mahoney sustained a sprained ankle and some sbraslcns cn the head.
