VALEDICTORY.
ST MARGARET'S CHURCH.
PRESENTATION TO MR. SAVILL,
At the conclusion of the evening service at St. Martlet s Church, on Sunday last, the Vicar ashed the congregation to wait outside the Church for a few minutes. To the re-assembled congregation he then addressed a few words of explanation. He said Mr. Savill was soon going to the front and his wife w-as leaving the district. He knew Mr. Savill was one of the humblest of men and would rather no demonstration of regard was publicly made, yet so great had his services been, so faithfully and consistently carried out, that it was due to the congregation that some expression of regard and appreciation should be made. He therefore on their behalf presented Mr. Savill with a silver wristlet watch and to Mrs Savill a handsome silver dish. In doing so the Vicar' gave his blessing to them both and hoped they would be soon together again in more peaceful days, and in the meantime each would have something to remind them of their work done here and of our. appreciation of it.
heartfelt words, expressed Bis gratitude, especially for the thought of his wife in this regard, as the sacrifice entailed by his work for the Church had been largely made
by her. With a sincere God-speed the company quietly bade adieu in a silence more full pf and regard than any words could express.
