FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT

While this morning's AucklandWellington express was leaving the Te Kuiti station a man, whose name is not available, tried to board . the train while it was in motion.

Unfortunately for him he happened upon the front of the ladies' carriage where there are no steps. His hold was broken and ho fell on the rails, the train cutting him completely in two, his body being terribly mutilated

William Trash, 34 years, a discharg-i cd soldier, working at Putaruru, a passenger to Wellington, attempted toboard the train at Te Kuiti last even* ing. He missed his footing and felL The train passed over him. He died almost immediately as a result of his! injuries. He was a native of Sydney.
