HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLEGRAM.
WELLINGTON, Feb. 25
The High Commissioner's market report dated London, February 23, is as follows, quotations, unless otherwise specified being average market
prices on spot: Meat. —There continues to be an active demand. The market is poorly supplied, and the supply falls short of the demand. Supplies consist chiefly of New Zealand and Argentine lamb, each quoted at ll*d. U.S. frozen beef and. Argentine and Brazilian chilled beef in each case selling at—hinds Hid, fores 9Jd.
u Butter and Cheese. No change since last report. Active demand with short supplies.
"Wheat. —Business is curtailed owing to the absence of offers. Government official quotations have not changed. No. 2 Northern Manitoba and No. 2 Hard Winter, 76/. Oats.—The market is firm, especially for landed American white at 61/6 (multilated words here) Western Canadian 63/. £Lemp.—Manila and New Zealand markets are quiet but firm.
