RED TRIANGE DAY APPEAL.
His Worship the Mayor (Mr. A. H, Arrowsmith) has called a public meeting ror to-night at 8 o’clock, in the Town Hall supper room, to consider means for furthering the Red Triangle Day Appeal for the Y.M.C.A. war work amongst "Our Boys" on active ser- ' ■ i It is needless for us. to pass any comment on the magnificent work that the Y.M.C.A. has done for, our scldieis everywhere. Hardly, a home but has been touched by, the Red Triangle. ’ So many of the letters fromthe front bearing that, sign whiifh spells welcome to all of the boys. Very many of these letters, too, contain glowing references to the work which the Y.M.C.A. has been and is doing for the men “Out Yonder.” It is hoped that a large number of citizens, both ladies and gentlemen* will attend the meeting to-night. On Wednesday Chaplain-Captain Blamires and Mr. Taylor, General. Secretary of the Wanganui Y.M.C.A.,visited Taihape en route to Ohakune. Mr Taylor will be present at the meeting this evening to tell what the Y.M.C.A. is doing and what it still desires to'do. Members of churches and local bodies are cordially invited- to be present.
