BIG SHIPPING DIFFICULTIES

WELLINGTON, Feb 12. Unforeseen difficulties regarding the shipment of butter have caused a

serious position. Most of the over. seas vessels leaving New Zealand or late have been unable to find room for butter, with the result that 100,00 a ~ cases are in score in New Zealand to- $ * dav. Producers are relieved of linan- i - | cial difficulties by reason that the Im- s t perial authorities have advanced 90 | ■ per cent of the value of the butter stoed, but they are anxious for future. I am officially informed that ***■ the present difficulties will be removed in a few weeks, when a quantity of butter urgently needed in England will be got away.

DEATH OF A WELL-KNOWN

DIVINE

AUCKLAND, this day

Obituary: Rev. A. H. Colville, M. A., Vicar of St. Sepulchre’s Church, following an operation for appendicitis

The deceased clergyman was one of the most eloquent and scholarly preachers in New Zealand, with a tendency towards the evangelical side of ~

the Church’s influence. ""Previous to 1 taking charge of St. Sepulchre’s parish, he was vicar'of St. Mary's, New Plymouth, and was the recipient of a great demonstration on leaving that town, where his eloquence and charming personality had endeared him to every member in his parish. He had previously visited various parts of New Zealand in the performance of church work, and on s'everal occasions had been in Auckland, where he always had a warm reception. St. Sepulchre’s Church, previous to his taking charge, was very poorly attended, but by the influence and eloquence of the the new incumbent, it was soon filled to overflowing. By the death of Mr. Colville the church loses one. of its brightest ornaments, and the community one of nature s gentlemen. s ■ iCU I f,i V,.
