SOMETHING NEW IN TREATING ‘ ' DISEASES OF STOCK.
This world-wide famous sheep' and. cattle dip, deodariser and disinfectant has come to New Zealand. Anconia is famous because it is proved to be in. the forefront of effective dips while being absolutely non-poisonous to inal life; it is deadly to ticks and ail other parasites while being quite injurious to the animals they attack. After dipping time with old poison, ous dips sheep are oftimes sick, for longer or shorter periods, and while ticks and other parasites are destroyed the health and constitution, of the animal is weakened, Anconia is in the convenient form of powder, being sold in packets and boxes, a box containing 12 packets, at 5s per jacket; one packet mixed with 100 gallons of water will dip, approximately, 200 sheep Another feature of Anconia is that it is always of uniform strength and in addition to being death to all parasites affecting animals it cures scab, footrot, ringworm, ulcers, mange and similar complaints, while it is a splendid preventive to maggot and blowfly. Used in proportions of one packet to 60 gallons of water it is a valuable disenfectant and deodorant, costing only one penny per gallon. In American cities and elsewhere, it is very largely used as a deodariser and disinfectant for hospitals, public buildings, hotels, butcheries, dairies, stables, fowl-runs, drains, sinks- sew, ers, and wherever it is desired to pu. rify and render disease-producing gases innocuous. It is ah'Valuable for such a diversity of purposes on the farm that it is indispensable. The fact of its absolute harmlessness to man, woman and child cannot he overlooked, whereas the handling of poisonous compounds has been the cause of many painful accidents.
