M. Trotsky, addressing the Soviets Congress, foreshadowed the possibility of the Tartars challenging the Bolsheviks’ supremacy. An Ukrainian regiment is reported to hayo disarmed a force of sailors and Red Guards at Bakchisarai. Fighting has begun between the Cossacks and Bolsheviks at Astrakhan. Tho Bolshevik papers claim a big success against the Cossacks. They say that General Kaledin is practically deserted.
A new party has arisen," called the 1 ‘lndependent 'Anarchists” who denounce the Bolsheviks as a bourgcoise Government. The ‘ 1 Anarchists ’ ’ threaten to hold the American Ambassador personally responsible for the safety of two comrades who have been sentenced in America for violating the military drafts law.
BOLSHEVIKS AND RUMANIA.
LONDON, February 1
It is rumoured that the Allied Ambassadors are leaving Petrograd owing to the Bolshevik attitude towards Eoumania. This astonishes and dismays •the Bolsheviks whose view is thait Eoumania is on the verge of a badlyneeded revolution. Consequently, the Russian province of Bessarabia, with landowners are preparing to seize the the collusion of the Bessarabian propertied classes, in order to compensate Eoumania for the loss of Dobrudja when she accepts peace from Austria and Germany. The B'olsheviks are astonished at the Allies supporting the Eoumanian propertied classes, who, they say, are actually working in the interests of the Central Powers. '

M. Trotsky, in his interview with a United Press correspondent, declared that if the Allies did not participate in the conference at Brest Litovsk, the Bolsheviks would take whatever action was to the best advantage of revolutnionary Russia.
