THE LAW’S LONG ARM.

H B. DUNCAN ARRESTED

The Official Assignee at Wanganui, reports that the police has informed him that Henry Barr Duncan, the Talhape bankrupt, was arrested in Auckland on the afternoon of the 29th January, by Detective Sweeney, on a warrant for breach of the Bankruptcy Act. The warrant was issued by the Stipendiary Magistrate, at Wanganui, on 23rd August, 1916, the bankrupt 'being on that date sentenced to three months imprisonment for contempt of Court in failing to come up for his public examination when called upon to do so. Duncan disappeared, no tidings being heard of him till about six months ago, when it was' persistently rumoured that he had been seen in Auckland. Ho is said to have been earning his living in Auckland by exploiting two patents, quite publicly. In all probability further charges in connection with the Military Service Act may have to be answered in addition to that for contempt of Court.
