All efforts to reach Mackay and theisolated districts have so far . been futile, It is understood that Bowen missed the cyclone, but traffic is interrupted by floods/ bridges having been washed away. ' Telegraphic dislocation continues.

The Federal Government has-donat ed £5,000 for relief purposes. .
