ST MARGARET’S PARISH SCHOOL
The new headmistress of St. Margaret’s Parish School is Miss M. Short, of Auckland. She was an assistant at Miss Stanford’s Girls’ School, New Plymouth, and has worked for some years under the Auckland Education Board. Her experience is thex-efore a certain quantity. Her personality and fitness for the position has been guaranteed by the best authorities and the Church Board has approved the appointment. The local school has been registered under the Education Department, and will be inspected by the Inspectors of the Wanganui Education Board. The children will be educated to the sixth standard, and will sit for their proficiency in due course. In addition, Latin, French and Shorthand are to be taught to those desiring it. Re-' ligion and Biblical history are an ordinary part of the school work. During the year the committee hope to build an up-to-date schoolroom on land provided for the purpose, and leaving the building previously known as the Parish Hall to the infant work only. The committee feel now thalr the success of the school is assured, and thank those parents who have shown confidence in them.
