report: At Palmerston North on the 24th. inst., we had a fairly good yarding of stock the quality of which was on the whole rather inferior. Juices showed an improvement and practically the whole yarding changed hands: Aged store ewes brought from 15s to ISs, aged woolly ewes (poor) 21/10, inferior 2-tooth ewes 17/6 to 20/10, cull ewes 6/ to 10/0, aged ewes and lambs (poor) 20/, store lambs 12/6 to 15/, small 9/ to 10/4.
At Feilding on the 25th inst., we had a good muster of sheep and a fair entry of cattle. There was a good demand for all classes the market showing i a decided improvement especially for sheep. Sales were, made at the following rates: Fat wethers 33/3 f.m. breeding ewes 22/ to 25/6, ewes 16/ to 19/, aged ewes 13/ to 14/6 rape lambs 18/ to 19/6, blackface lambs 13/5 to 13/9, shorn lambs 11/6 to 13/6, cull 2-tooth wethers 20/, to 21/6, light fat and forward cows £lO lis to £ll Ss, forward cows £8 Is to £9 7s, aged and small store cows £5 5s to £7 10s, 2* year steers £lO 17s, 15 month steers £7 Is, 18 month heifers in calf £6 ss, springing heifers £7 10s to £lO, store heifers £6 2s 6d to £6 ss, mixed weaners (medium), £1 17s to £2 ss, cull ditto 17/6 to £1 Bs, bulls £lO to £ll 10s.
