M. Malvcy has been cited to appear before the High Court on Monday to answer M. Dawbet’s charges of supplying the enemy with the French military and diplomatic plans, and particularly the plan of the Chemin des Dames attack, and also for encouraging the enemy by promoting and inciting mutiny. The case is expected to be opened on the 2Sth insf.

ENDEAVOUR TO COERCE THE GOVERMENT.

A meeting of two thousand Woolwich workers passed a resolution demanding that the Government should enter into peace neogtiations with the other belligerents on no-annexation, no indemnity basis; also providing for the self-determination of all nations. The meeting pledged itself to co-oper-ate in continuing the war if the negotiations disclosed that the German Imperialists are the only obstacle, but pledged themselves to oppose the manpower proposals if the Government refuse to enter into peace negotiations.
JEWS TO RETURN TO PALESTINE

At the Jewish Conference at Bradford a member of the Executive Council of the Zionist Federation stated that the Government intended shortly to allow a commission to proceed to Palestine to prepare for the establishment of the Jewish nation. Thereafter a staff of technical experts, engineers, architects, agriculturists, and town planners are to go out to Palestine. The Zionist mission did not intend to create a group of international financiers to exploit Palestine but to place;,on the land by purchase a Jewish prolitariat that would work harmoniously with the Arabs.
THE MAN-POWER BILL,
LONDON, January 22,
The Man-Power Bill passed through Committee after a lively debate, many of the Commoners objecting to the immense' powers vested in a single Minister. The representative of agriculture were particularly critical, desiring that agriculture should be withdrawn from the purview of the bill.
Mr. Auckland Goddes in a sympathetic reply, met the objections by promising that aq,y order under the Act should bo subject to the approval of both Houses.

The Ncav York World, prints a supposed article from a Berlin paper wherein a former commercial magnate, August Thyssen stated that many Germans in 1912 Avere offered rich reAvards to support a Hohenzollern Avar. The Hohenzollerns said the Avar had become a necessity for the preservation of the military system and offered me a grant of 30,000 acres of land in Australia and a loan of three-quarters of a million dollars to help to develop the land. Other firms were promised special facilities in India, and a syndicate AA T as formed for the exploitation of Canada. It was calculated that Germany Avould conquer Australia, India, and Canada by 1915. Promises AA'eye made by Holl. Aveg and confirmed by the Kaiser. Thyssen adds;—When asked to guarantee one million dollars to the war loan of 1916, I declined, whereupon my war contracts were concelled and business ruined
