The commander of one destroyer was blown overboard by the explosion, but was rescued and resumed duties. A surgeon was for some hours afloat. When rescued he attended the wounded. The engineroom staffs showed exemplary coolness throughout, though in imminent danger. ITALIAN SCHEME ADOPTED. ROME, January 8.
