MILITARY SERVICE.
THE SECOND DIVISION. NO BALLOT THIS MONTH. The Minister for Defence stated that no ballot for Second Division. I Class A men would be taken this month. A ballot, he said, would be taken next month, but the residue of Class A might last for both February and March, in which case the first ballot of Class B' men would not be taken till April. Over 5000 First Division reservists, formerly classed as unfit, are to be reexamined by the Special CI MedicalBoard during the next four montns* they are First Division volunteers and nien who were called up in sixth ballot and subsequent ballots 1 ., A substantial proportion of these men. doubtless, will be passed into the CI camp for the training that may make them fit for active service. The re-examination of rejectedFirst Division volunteers will be completed by May. The re-examination of• rejected Second Division volunteers will be undertaken after the calling up of all the ballot men in their class. The next recruit draft, the thirtysixth reinforcements, wil enter camp on the days February sto 9. No re* inforcement is to be mobilised during January, but a draft will be taken in* to the CI camp on
