WHAT ABOUT OUR BOYS?

IN THE GEEAT FINAL STRUGGLE

The Over-Seas Club, of which His Majesty the King is patron, is once more making an appeal to the people of the Empire for subscriptions to be used in the purchase of such Trench Comforts as are needed as circumstances arise. The Women's Club has done admirable work in providing our lads in the trenhces with comforts, but they are not on the spot to see what is considered immediately necessary. Officers of the Over-Seas are always in the front and are sending back lists of what the boys in snow and ice most urgently need. The requirements during a long winter is running away with a lot of money, and as our soldiers are likely to have a particularly severe and strenuous time this winter the Over-Seas Club, to make life in the front line more bearable, is asking the people of the Empire to give something if it be only one penny. Every little' helps to swell the funds. It is -believed that the battle that is to bring permanent peace is soon to commence; it will be a long one and will be waged with extreme bitterness. The strain on our men is likely to be of an unprecedented severity. Recognising this the Officers of the Over-Seas Club are preparing for a greater strain on their resources, and they are asking us all to contribute a little in bringing final victory nearer and more sure.

'Any contributor may nominate the soldier on whom the money is to be spent, or it can be left to the needs of all the men as the Officers of the Club see them on the spot. They say it is hard to imagine the great joy theso gifts cause in the trenches, if it were otherwise very much more would come along from a bigger army of subscribers.

The Taihapc Daily Times has been asked to receive subscription's to the Over-Seas Club Fund, and any subscription, however small, will be gladly accepted, and a list of all contributions will be published, either with the donor's name or a nom de plume. Whose name will be first in helping on this really noble work?
