WESTERN FRONT.
HOSTILE ARTILLERY DUEL. Received 9.35. LONDON, January 4. Sir Douglas Haig reports tliat raiders were driven off before reaching our positions eastward of Epehy. Hostile artillery was active along the front south-west of Cambrai, also along the front southward from Lens to 'Armcntieres and in the neighbourhood of Zonuebekc. Our aeroplanes dropped’ a few r bombs at Garvin, despite the bad weather. We advanced our line slightly on the right, south of Lens.
