SAVED BY A LUMINOUS WATCH.
A conversation overheard on a railway platform the other day referred to one of the most amazing examples of recovery on the field of battle. Some British soldiers (says the “Daily Graphic” ha dthe misfortune to be buried during a bombardment. One { of them was dug up three hours later, i and survived to tell /the tale, and by and by to fight and he wounded again and again. Ho owed his rescue to the fact that he was wearing a wrist-watch with luminous face. In the ' darkness of the night a British party were attracted by curiosity to this object. Finding a hand sticking out of the ground, they began f/o dig, and presently unearthcd'tHo oho'living man and two dead comrades.
