FIVE NORWEGIAN STEAMERS SUNK BY SUBMARINES. Received 10.20. COPENHAGEN, Dec 28. Submarines sank five Norwegian steamers, killing 30 men. JAPANESE STEAMER TORPEDOED LONDON, December 27. A Spanish steamer brought part of the crew of the Japanese steamer Mayor! Maru, which was submarined off Spain on October 20th, when en route from Kobe to Marseilles with a cargo of rice. Two submarines shelled the vessel and killed a fireman. The crew of 40 escaped. The steamer sank and the crew were picked up by a French transport and taken to Dakar.
