AMUSEMENTS

EVERYBODY’S

TO-MORROW (SATURDAY)

To-morrow (Saturday) commencing at the matinee an exceptional attraction will be offered to picture going people in the 6 reel Lasky production “Castles for Two/’ with winsome and versatile Marie Doro in the leading -part. “Castles for Two” is as charming and colourful as an Irish hero, an American heroine, and a delightful little romance can make it. We first sec the young heroine as an American heiress, bored to death by the oppression of her wealth. She persuades an old unrse to take her to a castle in Ireland, where she insists on her secretary posing as the heiress while she disguises herself as a servant in her own house. Meanwhile the moneyless family of a young Irish peer anr making his life miserable because he refuses to marry the supposed heiress, whom he declares is ‘ 1 to old, and, anyway, I don ’t like her.” A sudden love affair has sprung up between the peer and; the real heiress, whom he believes to be a servant, and this comedy of errors is cleared up by an amusing and dramatic climax. Marie Doro looks excessively pretty and plays both roles with her usual piquant loveliness. Elliot Dexter makes a sturdy and handsome Irish peer, and the remainder of the cast is satisfactory. This Irish-Ameri-can love story will appeal to all the lovers of delightful romance, which is not merely sugar and sentimentality, but has dash and spirit.

KING’S THEATRE. The star picture to be shown at the King’s Theatre to-night will be a 4rcl Mutual masterpice, featuring that excellent young actor Charles Ray, whose work with the Triangle Company in such picture plays as “The Coward” ‘ ‘ Peggy, ’ ’ and others, has brought him prominently before the public, and who possesses in a rare degree that boyish look and style that make his escapades seem not only possible but actual. Miss Louisa Glaum is associated with Mr Ray in the “Forbidden Adventure, ’ ’ and her performance, coupled with her recent appearances, stamp her work as being of wonderfully high merit. The first episode of ‘ ‘ The Mysteries of the Submarine’’ will also be shown. This is concidered to be a splendid serial, and will be shown tonight and at to-morrow’s matinee.
