A French communique states: A German attack was repulsed In Chaume Wood. BRITISH AIRSHIP LOST. DESTROYER SUNK BY COLLISION Received 9.10. LONDON, Dec. 16. The Admiralty reports that a British airship of non-rigid type, with a crew of five, proceeded on patrol on the 11th, from an east coast base and has not returned. It is believed to have been destroyed by hostile seaplanes in the southern part of the North Sea. A second airship of similar type was forced to descend through"engine failure in Holland on the 12th.' A British destroyer was sunk on the 12th, after t collision, and two men are missing. AIR RAIDERS DOWNED LONDON, December 15 Two German aeroplanes were downed during the raid. A sixth was forced to descend owing to damage by antiaircraft guns. AMERICAN WAR COUNCIL. TO CO-OPERAT WITH ALLIES. Received 10.50. WASHINGTON, Dec 16. Mr Baker has created a Military War Council composed of high army officers ,to deal with problems of supplying forces in the field, and co-oper- 1 ation with the allies.
