A CLAIM FOE DAMAGES. HAMILTON, this fay. At the Supreme Court Sarah Moles sued the Cron-n for £2,000 damages for the death of her son, James Casey electric linesman, at Rotcrrua. Mr. Mays, for the! Crown, admitted the liability. The jury awarded the mother £SO, the wife, living separately, £425, and an illegitimate child of another woman £SOO. A MAGNIFICENT GIFT. The Duchess of Norfolk has given Norfolk House for use as a club for wives and relatives of overseas officers there are 1000 members already. The club will be opened on the 20th Dec. ember.
