THREE STARS The programem to be shown tonight at the Three Stars is one that was intended to open the new King's Theatre, entitled "The Americano." Douglas Fairbanks, the tornado of the screen, as he has been well named, puts up his best work in this piece, a splendid Triangle romance of Paragonia, a small South American Republic. A revolution has taken place and a theiving unprincipled soldier is temporarily on top of the situation Fairbanks, with the aid of the most astounding athletic stunts, and amazing presence of mind, outwits and overcomes the villian of tKT "piece, annexing as well the rightful President's pretty daughter. The scenery of tne play is uniquely beautiful, the tropical gardens and open-air cafes be-, ing almost extravagantly pretty. The drama has more plot than any of Fairbanks' previous efforts, and is confidently listed as his best. yet.. The eleventh episode of "Gloria's Romance" supports the above.

EVERYBODY'S A very high note of popular favour is struck by "The Fortunes of Fiff—a most entertaining Paramount picture that is being screened at Eevrybody's to-night. In this drama the talented artist, Miss Marguerite Clark, is the leader, and in her pourtrayal of the little French actress who is the heroine, Miss Clark shoW§ in strong sincerity her undoubted talent. In the "Fortunes of Fifi" the heroine first appears as a little Pierrot in a French play that fails. Cartouche, an old general, takes the little Fifi under his wing, but she utterly fails to realise his goodness, and when he presents her with a lottery CicKet which wins her a fortune she goes to a wealthy home. Here her wild extravagance first impresses, then shocks the family, and Fifi is eventually turned out of the house a pauper. From this point the incidents of the play are vivid, and lead up to a sensational, though happy, climax. There is a good deal of artistic merit in the picture, which represents Miss Clark's first appearance since her sUcce"ss in "Snow White." Another big attraction is the Bluebird production "Treason," a picture that will stir e nthusiastic response from its observers, because of its sensational call to the spirit of the times.
