Clynes, replying to a question, said that our voluntary ration scale was 30 to 40 per cent higher than the Germany compulsory scale. PLOTS AGAINST INDIA SAN FRANCISCO, Dec 5. Lieutenant Baron von Brinken (German Military Attache), George Rodick (ex-Consul for Germany at Honolulu), and H. Schrieder (Rodick's successor at Honolulu) pleaded guilty at the trial of 34 defendants, including Hindus, accused of plotting for the overthrow of British rule in India. The scheme involved the shipping of arms and ammunition to India to certain seditious natives there. Von Brinken admitted his guilt, in order, he said, to avoid further disclosures.
