A meeting of creditors in the estate of C. E. S. Cuff, who was adjudged a bankrupt, on December 3rd, will be held at the Courthouse, Taihape, on Friday, December -14, at 11 a.m.

A singular lapse of memory was revealed when a couple of Canadian soldiers rushed into the Manchester Town Hall and asked to be directed to the place where oner was to be married. This was ten minutes within the appointed time for the ceremony, and the soldier bridegroom had forgotten the place fixed for his marriage. He was a stranger to the city, and the bride had made all the arrangements for the wedding. It was only when a list of registry offices was read over that the bridegroom recollected the place, and the pair sprinted for the first tram to the scene of the wedding.

An appellant’s mother told the Military Servce Board at Hamilton the other day that she was “56 years old to-day.” The Board wished her “many happy returns,” and complimented her upon her youthful appearance.
