SOLDIERS DRESSED AS GUYS WELLINGTON, this day.
Messrs. Young and Anderson, M.P.s waited on the Minister of Defence and stated that soldiers had strongly complained about the new dress regulations. Some men positively stated they would not go home and be laughed at as silly guys. After some discussion Mr. Allen said he would consult with General Robin, as to whether the regulation could be relaxed with regard to men on leave.
THE RTJNANGA MURDER. EGGEES BEFORE THE COURT. GREYMOUTH, this day. The Grcjjunouth. murder charge is likely to extend to Tuesday. Fourteen witnesses were examined yesterday, there are a further 27 to be heard. It is doubtful if pay-master Hall will be able to give evidence, yesterday, he had a bullet extracted from his arm but is still in a critical condition, the lower portion of his body being paralysed. It is understood that X-rays at the hospital is not sufficiently powerful to definitely locate the other bullet in the body. The depositions of Hall were taken at the hospital some days ao-o. Thf>v will probably be put in.
