LONDON, Nov 26. Five Australian soldiers have been awarded the Victoria Cross.

A mysterious tragedy occurred at Trawool, on the 10th November. A cabman drove a Mrs. Taylor, and a twelve year old step-daughter to Trawool, where the woman stated she was going to nurse her sister. Subsequently their bodies, with their heads smashed, were found in the Goulburn | River. £152 was found sewn into the woman's underclothing, and a photograph of a soldier named Arthur Oldring was discovered' amongst the woman's belongings. He was recognised as a man missing from the Seymour Camp. He was seen in the vicinity of the tragedy. Oldring has been arrested. SWISS PEOPLE WARNED. SWITZERLAND WILL RESIST TO THE LAST EXTREMITY Received 9.10. BERNE, Nov 26. In the course of a speech the Minister for the Interior urged unity of all classes In the present, terrible crisis, and in the perilous times ahead. He gravely warned the people of the possibility of a belligerent violating Swiss territory owing to some unforeseen event. Whoever did this would be unhesitatingly combafted with t-he full strength" of "Spritzerland's armed forces, even against manifest superiority, and the struggle would be prosecuted to the last extremity.
