HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE. WELLINGTON, Nov 19. The High CommissFoifer’s market report, dated Lond o n, November 17, is as follows; Meat.—Home-killed beef very scarce —a large proportion of secondclass quality selling at 12d. Homekilled mutton, Scotch lambs in fair ; supply, 13d. No frozen meat has 'been released during this week by order of the Government. Argentine mutton, lamb Hid; Argentine beef, no supplies available and no quotations. Butter. —All descriptions of butter very scarce; no official quotations, except Paris 256 s 8d and Dutch 2295; Danish and Dutch in small shipments. There is dissatisfaction on acc o unfc of the fixed maximum prices. Cheese. —Cheese is in small supply. English Cheddar 1425; all others at Government prices. Hemp.—Manila and New Zealand markets no change; stocks here at October 31 this year are: Manila 15,143 tons, Now Zealand 562 tons against 7394 tons and 443 tons respectively last year. The Manila outpu this year, up to N o vember 12, is 1,085,000 bales, against 1 039,000 bales - > o ; last year. Cocksfoot. —Market firm, but little doing. Good Danish is quoted at £8 5s ex warehouse. Wheat and Oats.—Market quiet; no alteration in prices.
