MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE

RESULT OF MOTOR FATALITY.

PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 17,

The adjourned, inquest on the body of Francis William Yillars, the boy who was killed in collision with a motor car on October 23, was resumed this morning before Mr Kenrick, S.M, Coroner, A er(i ict “That deceased met his death as the result of injuries received through being run over by a motor car, driven by Fred Hoult, and that the accident was caused through the gross negligence of Hoult, in neither sounding his horn, altering his course, nor reducing his speed when catching deceased up, and that deceased and a boy cycling with him did not in any way contribute to the accident.” ■

Hoult was then charged with manslaughter and remanded till Friday, next. Bail was allowed, Hoult in £2OO, and two other sureties of £IOO each.
