THE ORMOND ESTATE. EVERYTHING LEFT TO FAMILY. WELLINGTON, this day. Probate has been granted in the late Hon. J. D. Ormond’s estate, which is under £450,000_ The will leaves all money and estates to members of the family. The Ormond “Tintagel,” Napier, is left to his daughter Fanny*- Ormond, the deceased’s widow to have a life residence in it free of all charge. Hannah Ormond, widow of. deceased, is left an annuity of £ISOO free of all death duties; George Canning Ormond and John Davis Ormond, are each left five stud mares and three racehorses. The remainder of the stud draught horses and thoroughbreds are to be sold by auction. The executors and Trustees are J. D. Ormond ; G. C. Ormond, and P C. McLean.
DEFENCE EXPENDITURE COMMISSION. PROBABLE APPOINTEES MENTIONED. WELLINGTON, this day. It is understood that the Commission to inquire into the Defence Department expenditure will contain three members. Mr Peter Barr, Dunedin; A. S. B'iss, Wellington, both accountants and auditors of standing, are mentioned as likely to be selected.
