NEW ZEALAND HOSPITAL SHIPS.
His the Governor of this Dominion, will be remembered by New Zealanders In the future for his whole-hearted efforts in caring for our wounded soldiers. His Excellency has particularly interested himself in the two fine hospital ships which New Zealand presented to the Empire’s “Great White Fleet/’ as our hospital ships are termed. In two books, recently published, His Excellency has contributed some valuable records that are sure to engross the attention of those whose dear ones have been carried from the various battle arenas, to hospital in England, in Egypt or have been brought to their homes in this country. To others they Avill prove highly informative and interesting, in addition to furnishing a detail of facts for future reference. HiExcellency has had these books published at. his own 'expense and he is virtually presenting the proceeds of their sale to the Red Cross Fund. A supply' for sale in Taihape has arrived, and can now be purchased here. The title of the larger book which is sold at half-a-crown, is “The Voyages of His Majesty’s New Zealand Hospital Ships, Marama and Maheno.” The smaller book-selling at one shil-
ling and sixpence is "The New Zealand Hospital Ship Maheno.” Both are beautifully printed on art paper ; w-ell-bound in strong covers, and almost every alternate leaf bears illustrations in the highest style of photo process art. It is rather a surprise that such a really good class of book can be published at the low price charged. They are sure to have a very large sale as there is scarcely a man or woman amongst, us that is not deeply interested in the information they contain.
