Canadian people, undertakes to grant Women’s Franchise, and conscript wealth through adequate taxation; to abolish patronage throughout the Government services, correct abuses in the Militia, and mobilise Canada economically for war.
THE NEW CHANCELLOR. PRUSSIANS ANNOYED. LONDON Nov 5. Reactionary Prussians are bitterly disappointed at even the small concession to Parliamentary ideas embodied in Dr Von Hertling’s appointment to the Chancellorship. The Rhenische Westfalische Zeitung declares that Dr Von Hertling is ignorant of foreign countries, a supporter of Dr. von Bethmann-Holl-weg’s foreign policy ? the jealous guardian of Bavaria's interests: that he prevented Alsace-Lorraine from becoming Prussian, and will radicalise Prussia on the instructions of Scheidemann (Socialist leader), Erzberger (Catholic leader), and Von Payer. The paper asks; “Is there no spark of the old proud Prussian spirit left?” The journal emphasises that all the important offices are now in the hands of South Gennans #
