A THRILLING STORY RECALLED. Received 8.30. LONDON, Nov 14. A remarkable story has been recalled in the Prize Court, about the steamer Mazatlan, flying the Mexican flag, and attempting to wireless to the cruiser Leipsig details of sailings and positions of British ships. The scheme was defeated by the resourcefulness of Smith an English wireless operator aboard, who secretly put the wireless out of tune, altering the wave length whenever the German operator was going on duty. Smith occasionally communicated with the Leipsig in case she would guess the wireless was wrong. On one occasion the captain ordered Smith to send a code message to the Leipsig. When Smith refused as a Briton the Mazatlan officers threatened to shoot hirn Smith then pretended to send the message and worked the keys but no sparks were seen. Finally the British captured the Mazatlan off the Falklands,
