THREE STARS ' “God’s Half-Acre” is the unusually named star picture to be screened at the Three Stars Theatre for to : night pnly. It is a Metro pf really excellent merit, in which that clever artiste, Mabel Taliaferro, is seen in her best work yet given on the screen. At the beginning of the picture most of the scenes are in and around “Rainbows End ” a Home for i ’ the Aged, and near the end we have “God’s Half-Acre,” a Home for orphons, and the inmates of both homes add not a little to the success of the picture story. The story is altogether delightful; it is strong, gripping, vital and intense throughout, clever in construction and there is a sweetness and charm to it that cannot fail to appeal, and Miss Taliaferro’s ■ charm and personality is wonderfully well suited to the part of “Blossom,” the little old young lad^ —a sort of little Marchioness—that Dickens might have created. “Blossom” is the little : maid-of-all-work in an aged folks home known as “Rainbow’s End,” !and the kindly old inmates call her the Angel of Rainbow’s End. Everyone loves her, the simple-minded, loyal loving girl—everyone except the Dragon —as the Matron is known. The story is one of great charm, teeming with unusual situations of both comedy and pathos. There are many thrilling moments also, and a delightful love-story is unfolded in a decidedy interesting manner. “God’s HalfAcre” possesses every requisite for a screen masterpiece.
