TAIHAPE OUR DAY RED CROSS EFFORT.
A meeting of the, I; Execytive Committee to wind up affairs in connection with Taihape’s Red Cross effort was held in Mr McLoughlan’s office on Friday evening, all members being present.
All outstanding accounts -were* pased for payment, the local Red Cross executive committee being given power to pay accounts and prize money. All winners of prizes are requested to apply at once to Mr W. R. Emerson for same, A vote of thanks was passed to. Mr E_ McLaughlan, who was nearly responsible for the success of the art union, and to Mr A. B. Young for his generous donation of the linen press and contets. The art union resulted in a clear profit of £B2 19s. A special vote of thanks was passed to Mr and Mrs S. G. Peyton for efforts in organising the concert, and congratulations on the financial success of the same; also to all performers and those who assisted at the
concert. Mention was also made of the valuable services rendered by Mr J_ Capill and his staff, who did gratis all the cartage in conection with “Our Day” effort and Avere at work continuously from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on “Our Day,” also on the day before and after.
Votes of thanks Avere also passed to Mr Swedlund for the use of Town Hall and to Mr A. C. NTc-holls for picture display on “Our Day.”
