PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the above Society was held at the nurses' room, Town Hall, on Friday, 2nd November. Present: Mesdames De Latour (chair), Carpenter, Sherwin, Timbs Loughnan, Somerville, and the Secretary. Nurse Pariane reported that there are now 178 babies on the books; 18 of these are new eases, most of which are the result of "Baby Week" meetings. Eight letters have been received and answered and two mothers have been instructed in making humanised milk_ During the month she received 168 visitors at the office, and paid 137 visits to homes. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr Nicholls for donating the proceeds of a picture show to "Baby Week"; to Mrs Stud-holme for giving the prizes for the Baby Show; and to the Boy Scouts for their assistance during "Baby Week." Subscriptions were received during the month from Mesdames Oldham, Webb, Neagle, Menzies, Shand, Murray Little, S. Reid, Pitt, B'icknell De j Latour, and Misses Bear and McKinnon.
